MLK was a Republican
Interesting article that I received a link to on Twitter about Martin Luther King Jr. and being a Republican. Take a look at this one:
The Real Story of MLK and the Democrats
Very interesting. I didn't realize that he was a Republican. Amazing amounts of historical revisionism.

GOP: Should conservatives stay or not
I just read a great article from the American Thinker
Conservatism's Dilemma: To be or not to be in the GOP
You must take a look. It is like he read my mind! Great post Larrey!

Politically Homeless Series
A few years ago I wrote a few blog posts about the fact that I feel politically homeless. I thought I should re-post the links as they seem very timely right now.
Politically Homeless
Politically Homeless 2: Some Definition
Politically Homeless 3: Democratic Party
Politically Homeless 4: Libertarian Party
Never did get to the GOP, but I will take a shot at it soon!

Principle over Party
I believe in the concept of Principle over Party. It is MUCH more important that conservatives stand on our principles that to allow for watered down politicians to win elections. McCain is an example. He is not a conservative and does not stand on the principles. We need to stand up and not be pushed by the people who say that we must continue to leave our principles behind and get along. The Left is not doing that and neither should we.
The time has come for us to say enough. It is time for us to demand a real conservative leader who doesn't just pay lip service to the ideals and then turn around and do whatever they please.

Where are we headed?
Tonight I joined with many others on Twitter in the SGPBall and I saw one theme that stood out to me… Conservativism lives. Not in Washington, but definitely in America. We have not fallen in line as the liberal media likes to make it sound. The conservatism that Goldwater, Reagan, Buckley, Gingrich and others believed in still is alive. It has been tarnished by the Bushs, McCains, etc. but it is still there. I look forward to a “New Day in America” or “Contract with America” that will revive the dream.
The movement has started. Will it lead the party?
